Toddler Tales Through the Lens, as a photographer, every session brings its own unique challenges and joys. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Diego, a vibrant two-year-old boy, and his lively family. It was an afternoon filled with laughter, energy, and a special surprise that made all the difference.
Prehistoric Friend Catured Through the Lens
Diego’s parents had warned me about the “terrible twos,” but I was ready to take on the challenge. Knowing Diego’s love for dinosaurs, I decided to surprise him with a life-size dinosaur figure that matched his height. It was a gamble – it could either make or break the session. But to my delight, Diego’s eyes lit up with excitement at the sight of his prehistoric friend, and I knew we were off to a great start.
Creativity and Patience
Photographing a toddler with props requires creativity and patience. With Diego’s attention captured by the dinosaur, I enlisted the help of his dad and brothers to keep him engaged. Together, we transformed the photo session into a family affair, ensuring everyone felt involved and cherished.

To this family, it was a place deeply rooted in their history. The couple had met nearby in the high school, they both attended. Mom had fond memories of visiting the area with her family as a child. Now, they wanted to create new memories with their own children in this cherished location.
As the Golden Hour Approached
As the golden hour approached, we strategically positioned ourselves to capture the stunning sunset in the background. Watching Diego explore Seaport Village, the same place his parents had once roamed, was a heartwarming experience for everyone involved. These photos weren’t just images; they were a testament to family traditions and generational bonds.
Diego’s Love for Cookies
But the magic didn’t stop there. Mom had one more surprise up her sleeve – Diego’s love for cookies. Dressed in a Cookie Monster sweater, Diego indulged in his favorite treat. His cookie-eating-induced smile radiates pure joy. The sugar rush that followed had us chasing him around Seaport Village, resulting in candid shots that perfectly encapsulated his playful spirit.
Team Effort
Throughout the session, mom and dad watched over their children, ensuring their safety and happiness. It was a team effort, and the love and laughter shared that day were evident in every photograph. Toddler Tales Through the Lens, was a total success!
