Golden hour photography in San Diego. There’s nothing quite like summer in San Diego—especially when it’s lit by golden hour. At Diana Alvarez Photography, I’m always chasing the light that turns everyday moments into glowing memories. Whether it’s a beach session with your family, a romantic couples shoot, or a lifestyle portrait, the golden hour offers the most flattering, natural light San Diego has to offer.
🌞 What Is Golden Hour?
Golden hour is that magical time shortly after sunrise or just before sunset when the sun casts a warm, golden glow. It softens shadows, enhances skin tones, and brings warmth to every image. It’s my favorite time of day to photograph outdoors, and it’s why many of the photos you see in my portfolio have that dreamy, sun-kissed vibe.

📸 Why Golden Hour Photography in San Diego Are Worth the Hype:
Golden hour helps everyone look their best. The natural light creates a soft, even tone that makes your photos look professional and timeless. It’s also perfect for candid moments—laughing, dancing, walking—captured in a relaxed, beautiful setting.
⏰ When to Book:
In the summer, golden hour starts roughly one hour before sunset, usually between 6:30–7:30 PM. I recommend booking early and arriving 15–20 minutes before we start to settle in and take full advantage of the light.
