-Ellen Johnson Sirleaf
2023 Goals
If the size of your dreams doesn’t scare you, they aren’t big enough; I have to remind myself and keep this quote present at all times so I don’t give up. It’s January 2023, a fresh new month new year! And most of us have NEW goals, dreams, beginnings, and even careers, but not me. This year rather than acquiring a new plan, I want to continue to be persistent with the dream I have pursued for a couple of years! I have also learned that your business is as big as you make it and that growth is only achievable when you stare your fears down! And dreaming big is scary. I am no coward! LOL, I am super excited to discover what I will create this 2023!
Success is not impossible
We all grow differently, and the same goes for businesses. It may be a small, tiny, bitty business, but my goal is to develop it. I am terrified of failing, but so are most of the world’s most successful or famous people. They all had a dream that undoubtedly scared them but did not stop them. Instead, it motivated them. So being scared of my dreams tells me they are enough and worth pursuing.
What helps me overcome my fear
Besides, there are a few things I have learned to overcome this fear, such as training, seeking professional advice from experienced peers, and listening to my old man, my father, who always tells me to think positively and that he did not birth a coward! Haha, I love you, DAD! For those of you who don’t know, my father has owned his granite business for over 13 years. He has confessed that although he is fearful, he has to trust his skill and knowledge, which is so true in my business as well. Over the years, I have sharpened my skills from school, networking, and professional events, as well as practicing these skills over and over in order to bring my A-game to every shoot. NOT TO MENTION MY MENTORS! Such as business owners I work for who take me under their wings and give me words of encouragement. I am coming into 2023 grateful and motivated.
I am scared! But will persist
I continue on the same path to the unknown. Five years ago, I never thought I would be taking pictures of such fragile newborn babies. And Now, after over two years of training at a labor and delivery hospital, Newborn Photography is my bread a butter! I can’t believe I can now call myself a Newborn Photographer, among other titles. My persistence is not only coming from within, but it would not be possible without you, my clients, friends, family, and fans! Lol, Because I do have fans, right? hahaha
Cheers to being able to capture many more new memories. To grow and love every step of the journey. I love being your preferred Newborn Photographer in san Diego.
Love, Diana Alvarez
P.S. If I can do it, so can you! Be persistent in your dreams, mainly when you are scared. Don’t give up! Your success is my success! I want to see you succeed. Trust your skills and go for it!
